Focus ST/RS GT28 Turbo Conversion

Post by James on Fri Mar 19, 2010 7:17 pm

A genuine break through in performance for the ST/RS Focus.
The original KKK turbo was designed to produce boost from as low as 1400 revs and therefore cannot power the car in high power ranges. At 5750 it is struggling to flow the gasses to make big power, the car will rev but struggle to make more power.
The very popular Garrett GT28 turbo has historically been proven to make very good power. In the Focus RS it makes near 400 bhp with the modified 2000cc engine.
So why not use it on a 2500cc Focus ST ?
Imagine the response and the top end power !!
The New Cast Iron GT28 flanged Manifold is coupled to a GT2876 internally wastegated turbo and a unique V-Band adapted down pipe .This combination can accomodate a big power potential certainly near 375 bhp (mapping dependant)
