Even when an engine is seemingly built properly, stuff happens... I read about it a lot with big power nissan RB builds, even when the best in business builds the engine it can still go pop.
Case in point - the megabucks R.I.P.S. built RB30 in Anthony Scott's Rocket bunny s13 - they kept the power level safe at around 600bhp and the redline safe at 7000rpm (bear in mind that built properly they should be able to take 8000+) and it still chucked a rod through the side of the block after a couple of seasons.

and this was, as far as i know, just one of thous things, i read it was a gt500 running around 800ponies and it just went pop lol cant quite hear what they think on the vid lol but i would be well gutted

yeah thats the one. He either couldn't afford or didnt want the hassle of another big RB so he's now got a boring old sr20 in there now, i think running around 400bhp... actually doing better in competitions though, seemingly because he had to work it that much harder compared to the big torquey 3 litre.

me and him used to share alot of the same friends and i met him once or twice and if i remember right he had nothing but problems with that engine right from word go, i remember going to a drift event 3 years ago and he was there practising and he never even made it to the first round cos he blew it up before the event started, of course thats in my memory serves me right lol nice looking car at the time lol
